The high-voltage system stays live after shutdown and the vehicle reports a contactor fault.

A main contactor has welded contacts, so the DC link cannot be isolated.

Suggested test plan

  1. Follow HV isolation procedure.
  2. Measure DC link after shutdown.
  3. Compare commanded and actual contactor state.
  4. Replace the contactor assembly.

Safety: High voltage can be lethal. Only trained technicians may work on an EV. Use rated PPE and follow the manufacturer isolation procedure. This is an educational model only.

A welded contactor is a critical safety fault: the pack remains connected even when the vehicle is off.
