  • Park in a garage. Keeps the battery warmer overnight.
  • Drive with the heat pump on eco. Newer EVs manage cold-weather efficiency well.

  • 20-25°C is optimal — range at or above official.
  • 0°C: ~15-20% loss with a heat pump, ~25% without.
  • -10°C: ~25-30% loss, rising to 35-40% on short trips.
  • Heat: >30°C AC usage adds ~5-8% loss.
  • Based on AAA and real-world cold-weather EV tests.
