The high-voltage system stays live after shutdown and the vehicle reports a contactor fault.
A main contactor has welded contacts, so the DC link cannot be isolated.
Suggested test plan
- Follow HV isolation procedure.
- Measure DC link after shutdown.
- Compare commanded and actual contactor state.
- Replace the contactor assembly.
Safety: High voltage can be lethal. Only trained technicians may work on an EV. Use rated PPE and follow the manufacturer isolation procedure. This is an educational model only.
A welded contactor is a critical safety fault: the pack remains connected even when the vehicle is off.
