Charger hunting tips

  • Match the connector, not the speed. A 350 kW CCS works, a 100 kW CHAdeMO doesn't.
  • Don't pay for unused speed. If your car caps at 100 kW, a 150 kW station is fine — a 350 kW one costs the same time.
  • Precondition to hit peak rate. Cold batteries charge at half speed until warm.
  • Check the app for live prices. Rates vary by station and time of day.

How do I find the best charger for my EV?

Choose your EV on this page — we tell you which connectors it accepts and the fastest charge rate it can handle. Then use the map (or your charging app) to filter stations by that connector and power.

What charge rate can my EV actually accept?

Your car's maximum DC fast-charging rate is set by its battery and electronics — a 150 kW-capable car won't charge faster on a 350 kW station. Our compatibility guide tells you the realistic peak for your model.

Which connector does my EV use?

European EVs use CCS2 for fast charging and Type 2 for AC. North American Teslas use NACS; other North American EVs use CCS1 (with NACS adapters arriving). Older Nissan LEAFs use CHAdeMO.

Should I use a 50 kW or 150 kW charger?

If your car accepts 150+ kW, prefer the faster charger on road trips — it cuts stop time roughly 3x. For a quick top-up of 10-20% when you have time, a slower charger is fine and usually cheaper.
