Can I Reach My Destination?
The simple question every EV driver asks. Pick your car, battery level and distance — with temperature and speed — and get an instant yes-or-no with the charge you need.
Paris→Lyon 465 · Paris→Marseille 775.
Recommended: 10-15%.
Recommended: charge to before leaving.
What affects the answer
Tips when it's tight
- Slow down 10-15 km/h. Huge range recovery on the highway.
- Use a heat pump / seat heaters. Cabin heating is expensive in winter.
- Turn off HVAC near the destination for the last stretch.
- Have a backup charger within 20 km of your route.
Frequently asked questions
Will I reach my destination?
This calculator tells you if your current battery charge covers the distance under realistic conditions. If not, it recommends the charge level you need before leaving.
How do I calculate if my EV range is enough?
Estimate real range = usable battery ÷ adjusted consumption × 100, where consumption accounts for speed, temperature and weather. Compare to your remaining distance.
How much buffer should I keep?
Always keep 10-15% battery as buffer for detours, weather and traffic. Never plan to arrive below 10% unless you know the charger well.
Does temperature really change the answer?
Yes — in winter, 0°C can cut range 20%+ and strong headwinds another 10%. A trip that's fine in summer may be impossible in a January storm.
