The wipers move partway then stop and do not return to park.
The wiper motor loses supply or the park switch circuit is faulty.
Suggested test plan
- Check fuse and relay.
- Measure supply at the motor during stall.
- Disconnect the linkage and test the motor alone.
- Repair the linkage or replace the motor.
Safety: 12 V systems are low voltage but can still cause burns and fire. Disconnect the battery before working on wiring and never short a battery terminal.
Wiper faults are often mechanical. Disconnecting the linkage separates a binding mechanism from an electrical motor fault.
