Implausible Current Reading

The BMS reports a current that does not match the vehicle behaviour, and range estimates are wrong.

The BMS reports a current that does not match the vehicle behaviour, and range estimates are wrong.

The current sensor has drifted or lost calibration.

Suggested test plan

  1. Compare BMS current with a clamp meter.
  2. Check sensor supply, ground and signal.
  3. Reflash or replace the sensor.
  4. Recalibrate and verify.

Safety: High voltage can be lethal. Only trained technicians may work on an EV. Use rated PPE and follow the manufacturer isolation procedure. This is an educational model only.

An incorrect current reading affects range and protection. Verify with an independent meter before replacing the BMS.
