The engine cranks normally but does not start and there is no fuel pump prime sound.
Fuel pump supply or the pump itself has failed, so no fuel pressure is built.
Suggested test plan
- Check fuses and relay operation.
- Measure supply at the pump during prime.
- Measure the pump winding.
- Repair the wiring or replace the pump.
Safety: 12 V systems are low voltage but can still cause burns and fire. Disconnect the battery before working on wiring and never short a battery terminal.
An engine needs fuel, spark and compression. Confirming pump prime early prevents unnecessary ignition work.
