Public Charger Refuses My App or Card

The charging app won't start a session, the RFID card is rejected, or payment fails at the station.

What causes it

A roaming agreement issue, insufficient balance, a card not registered to the network, or the station's offline payment system.

What to do

  1. Check your balance/credit - most networks need pre-paid credit or a valid card.
  2. Make sure the card is registered to that network (or a roaming partner).
  3. Try the station's screen - plug in, then start via the app or the station display; order matters on some networks.
  4. Move to another stall - a faulty reader is common.
  5. Use the app to 'start charge' first before plugging in on some networks.

Roaming tip

If you travel a lot, use a single aggregator app (like a multi-network provider) that covers many brands - it avoids per-network accounts and dead cards.
