CarPlay or Android Auto Not Working in My EV
Apple CarPlay or Android Auto won't connect, drops out, or the screen shows an error.
What causes it
Cable issues, USB port problems, permission settings, or a head-unit software bug.
What to do
- Use a good cable - cheap or worn cables fail constantly. Try a certified one.
- Try a different USB port - many EVs have data and charge-only ports.
- Check permissions - on your phone, allow CarPlay/Android Auto for the car's connection.
- Forget and re-pair - delete the car from the phone and vice versa, then reconnect.
- Wireless CarPlay - toggle Wi-Fi/Bluetooth off and on; some cars need the phone screen unlocked.
- Reboot the head unit - hold the power button or restart via settings.
If it still fails
Update the car's software (CarPlay fixes are common) and the phone. If it's wired-only and the port is faulty, that's a dealer repair under warranty.
