Charging Stops Mid-Session at Public Chargers
Public charging sessions abort after a few minutes, often at the same station.
What causes it
Faulty connectors, thermal throttling of the battery, or a charger that is derating and cutting out.
What to do
- Restart the session - many cut-outs are one-off station glitches.
- Try a different stall at the same site before moving on.
- Update your car's software - charging session bugs are common fixes.
- Check battery temperature - if the battery is very hot or very cold, charging may derate and then abort.
- Try a different network - some networks have better reliability in your area.
If it keeps happening
Report the station in the charging app and try another location. Persistent failures across multiple networks could point to your car's charging inlet - inspect it for debris and get it checked.
