Electric Cars

My EV Won't Connect to Wi-Fi or Mobile Network

The car's connectivity shows offline - no app sync, no OTA updates, no online features.

What causes it

A poor LTE signal, a Wi-Fi setting that needs re-entering, or a connectivity module hiccup.

What to do

  1. Check the car's SIM/mobile data - go to Connectivity settings and toggle mobile data off/on.
  2. Re-enter Wi-Fi - forget the network and re-add your home SSID and password.
  3. Check your location - a parked car in a parking garage has no signal; test in the open.
  4. Reboot the car - most EVs reboot the system by holding the steering-wheel buttons.
  5. Check the app - log out and back in; some apps cache a stale session.

If it stays offline

The connectivity module can fail or need a software update. Book a dealer visit - many brands can run a remote diagnostic. OTA updates will simply wait until connectivity returns.
