Electric Motorcycles
Electric Motorcycle Won't Accept a Charge
The bike connects to the charger but charging never starts or errors out immediately.
What causes it
A damaged charging port, a faulty charger, or the BMS refusing charge due to temperature or cell imbalance.
What to do
- Check the charger on another EV/motorcycle - rule out the charger first.
- Inspect the charging inlet for water, corrosion or bent pins after rainy rides.
- Wait for extreme temperatures - most bikes refuse to charge below 0°C or above 45°C to protect cells.
- Reset the BMS - some models have a service reset in the app or service menu.
- Check the ground - many EVSE units error on bad grounding; try another outlet.
When to see a dealer
If nothing above helps, the issue is likely internal to the battery or BMS. Do not open the battery pack - high voltage is dangerous. Book a dealer visit.
