Electric Scooters

E-Scooter Range Suddenly Much Shorter

The scooter now covers half the distance it used to on a full charge.

What causes it

Cold weather, low tire pressure, a worn battery, or riding faster/heavier than before.

What to do

  1. Check tire pressure - soft tires are the #1 silent range killer. Inflate to the spec on the sidewall.
  2. Mind the temperature - cold air cuts range 20-40%; expect less in winter.
  3. Ride in Eco mode and at moderate speed (range drops fast above 25 km/h).
  4. Check battery health in the app - after 500+ cycles, capacity naturally drops.
  5. Inflate before every ride - pressure loss is normal and often ignored.

Reality check

A 20-30% range reduction over 2-3 years is normal battery aging. A sudden 50% drop usually means tire pressure or a bad cell - get the battery tested.
