Electric Scooters

E-Scooter Throttle Not Responding

The scooter powers on but the throttle does nothing - no motor, no acceleration.

What causes it

A throttle connection fault, a brake sensor stuck engaged, or the motor interlock not satisfied.

What to do

  1. Check the brake levers - a slightly pulled brake (or a faulty brake sensor) blocks the throttle for safety.
  2. Re-seat the throttle connector - under the handlebar; vibration loosens it.
  3. Power-cycle the scooter - off, 10 seconds, on.
  4. Check the kickstand/seat sensor - some scooters won't drive with the stand down.
  5. Check the display - an error code points to the exact fault.

If it still doesn't respond

Check the throttle hall sensor with a multimeter (or test with a spare throttle - they're cheap and easy to swap). If the display works but the motor never engages, the controller may have failed.
